Braselton is a quaint, quiet bedroom community which was named after Harrison Braselton. Harrison Braselton was a poor dirt farmer and after marrying Susan Hosch, daughter of a rich plantation owner, Harrison Braselton purchased approximately 786 acres north of the Hosch plantation. There he built their family home. Today, Braselton is best known for being the home to Chateau Elan Winery & resort. Chateau Elan welcomes approximately 500,000 visitors annually. As development as expanded northward along the I85 corridor, Braselton has experienced steady growth with an increased population from 418 in 1990 to 7,511 in 2010 (last census). With its small Southern charm and big Southern smile, Braselton residents have embraced the growth welcoming all those who choose to call Braselton home while still being able to maintain their focus on small town southern values. And for the locals who live here, they will tell you, "Everything is better in Braselton."
Braselton Georgia is located approximately 49 miles north of downtown Atlanta off I-85 off Exit 126 (and, Exit 129). The convenience to I85 makes Braselton a very popular location for businesses as well as homeowners who take the trip into downtown Atlanta for work. In addition to the I85 corridor, Friendship Road offer a quick and ideal route to I985, Buford Hwy or Peachtree Industrial Blvd (also known as McEver).

Deriving its name from the Cherokee Indians, the Mulberry River offers the Mulberry Riverwalk where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along its banks. Braselton has purchased approximately 200 acres along the banks of the Mulberry River in an effort to preserve and protect the river. A coming attraction to Braselton will be the Atlanta Riverwalk. The development will include everything from specialty shops, restaurants, hotels, single family homes, townhouses to active adult. And, keeping to its name, a river will flow through it.
Ranked as Georgia's leader in cardiac care, Braselton welcomes Northeast Georgia Medical Center as they open their doors to their new facility in spring 2015. Located off I85 at Exit 126, the new Braselton medical facility is located on the west side of I85 on Friendship Road.
