Braselton, Georgia is located approximately 49 miles north of downtown Atlanta off I-85. This very quaint, bedroom community was named after Harrison Braselton, a poor dirt farmer. After marrying Susan Hosch, daughter of a rich plantation owner, Harrison Braselton purchased 786 acres north of the Hosch plantation where he built a home. Today, Braselton is home to Chateau Elan Winery & Resort with approximately 500,000 visitors annually. The Atlanta Riverwalk is soon to be a new member of the community landscape which will provide residential housing, fine dining, specialty shops, senior living and much more. Braselton has seen continued growth with an increased population from 418 in 1990 to 7,511 in 2010 (last census).
